Welcome

The QUIT BUCKS™ Program
Quit Bucks™ is a program of the Vermont Department of Health that helps Vermonters quit smoking by making nicotine replacement products available at free to any adult in the state. To be eligible, a person must participate in cessation counseling, such as classes or individual support through their local hospital.

Free Nicotine Replacement (NRT)
People who are ready to quit smoking can get patches, gum, or lozenges at no cost for up to 12 weeks by using Quit Bucks coupons at the local pharmacy or by having the products delivered to their door. One Quit Bucks coupon or one delivery provides a two week supply of NRT.

Products
Quit Bucks covers the cost of the following: Nicoderm CQ® patches, Nicorette® gum, and/or Commit® Lozenges.

How to get free NRT
Two-week supplies of patches, gum, or lozenges are available from the Tobacco Coordinator at all hospitals in Vermont. To be eligible for free products, a person must be receiving some kind of help in quitting, usually through the hospital's Ready, Set. STOP program. Most pharmacies in Vermont will redeem the coupons. A person may choose to have the product delivered to their home instead of using a coupon.

VHAP/Medicaid clients
VHAP/Medicaid pays for patches, gum and lozenges, thus the clients do not need Quit Bucks.
